Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how orders placed with Designer Pets UK are handled. We have written them to be clear and useful, without burying the important parts beneath a small mountain of legal fog.

The important bit

Nothing in these terms limits or removes your rights under UK consumer law. If a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, your statutory rights still apply.

1. About us and these terms

Designer Pets UK sells pet clothing, accessories, handmade products and personalised items through this website. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Designer Pets UK; “you” means the person placing an order.

These terms apply to purchases made through designerpetsuk.com. Please read them before ordering. If you have a question, email info@designerpets.co.uk or use our contact form.

2. Products, sizing and personalised details

We take reasonable care to describe and photograph products accurately. Screen settings, lighting and the handmade nature of some products can cause small variations in colour, positioning, finish or pattern placement. These natural differences are not normally faults.

Please check measurements and size guidance carefully before ordering. Pet sizes can vary considerably between breeds and individual animals, so a breed name alone is not a reliable size guide.

You are responsible for checking names, wording, colours, sizes and other personalisation details before submitting an order. We will use the information supplied to us. If you spot a mistake, contact us promptly; once work has begun, a change may not be possible.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Any delivery charge will be displayed before you confirm your order. Standard UK delivery is currently free unless a different charge or service is clearly shown at checkout.

Payment is required through one of the methods offered at checkout. An order is not accepted until payment has been authorised and we send confirmation that we have accepted it.

We try to keep prices and product information accurate. If an obvious pricing or description error occurs, we may contact you before accepting the order. You may then continue at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We will not deliberately honour an obvious mistake merely because a computer managed to say it with confidence.

4. Orders and availability

Your checkout submission is an offer to buy. We will acknowledge receipt electronically, but acceptance takes place when we confirm the order has been accepted or dispatch it.

All orders are subject to availability. Occasionally an item, material or component may become unavailable after an order is placed. If we cannot supply the order, we will contact you and refund the affected amount. For handmade work, we may offer a suitable alternative, but we will not substitute it without your agreement.

We may refuse or cancel an order where payment is not authorised, the supplied information is incomplete, the order appears fraudulent, the requested wording or design is unlawful or offensive, or we cannot reasonably fulfil it. If payment has already been taken, the relevant amount will be refunded.

5. Dispatch and delivery

Standard stocked products are usually dispatched within 2–3 working days. Handmade or made-to-order products are usually dispatched within 3–4 working days. Personalised orders may occasionally take longer; where possible, we will make any different timescale clear before accepting the order.

Preparation time and carrier delivery time are separate. Delivery dates are estimates unless we have expressly agreed a fixed date. We aim to deliver within 30 days unless another timescale has been agreed.

Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address. Full details about delays, returns and refunds appear in our Delivery & Returns policy.

6. Cancelling and returning an order

For eligible products bought online, you may tell us that you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving the order, then return it within a further 14 days.

Products made to your specification or personalised especially for you cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind. This does not affect your rights if the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.

Return postage, refund timing and instructions are explained fully in our Delivery & Returns policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Safe use of pet products

You are responsible for choosing a product appropriate for your pet’s size, temperament, health and intended activity, and for checking its fit before use. Inspect products regularly for wear, damage or loose parts, and stop using anything that has become unsafe.

Clothing and accessories should be used under suitable supervision. Unless a product is expressly described otherwise, it is not a safety restraint, chew toy or substitute for veterinary advice. Nothing in this section reduces your rights where a product is faulty or not as described.

8. Our responsibility

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses arising from a purchase made wholly or mainly for business purposes.

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events genuinely outside our reasonable control, but we will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect and keep you informed. Your legal cancellation rights remain unaffected.

9. Website content and intellectual property

The Designer Pets UK name, branding, website text, photographs and original designs belong to us or are used with permission. You may browse and print information for personal use, but you may not copy, reproduce, sell or commercially exploit our content without written permission.

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

10. Personal information

We use personal information to process orders, provide customer service and operate the website in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

11. Changes, severability and applicable law

We may update these terms when our services, website or legal requirements change. The terms in force when your order is accepted will apply to that order.

If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right does not mean that right has been waived.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, where applicable consumer law permits.

Questions about an order?

Email info@designerpets.co.uk or send us a message through the contact page. We would rather sort out a question early than let it grow teeth.
